EPISODE SUMMARIES

(wait, there's a catch!)

in HAIKU!!!

Shenanigan Theatre is proud to present…Voyager Episode Summaries, in Haiku. Now, there are two people directly to blame for this obsession if, of course, one does not count ME also, for being so suggestible and malleable.

While wandering the site of AnneRose (that's one) one day in a deep, Museless funk, I happened upon her Haiku Contest and was instantly intrigued! The subtlety of the artform, its structured baseness, its meterless beat that nonetheless captured one's ear, if done right! I found myself over the next several days thinking in haiku—disciplining the children in haiku, answering emails in haiku, ordering fish at the market—ALL. . . secretly in haiku. I was giddy with my power, and with a proficiency with words that had abandoned me of late. I was addicted!

And then I realized—I was addicted! It was a sickness I couldn't resist; a compulsion that threatened to take over every aspect of my life! Well, I decided then and there that I had to stop. I did what anyone does in trying times as these—I turned to my friends and told them my whole sordid story.

And my friends did what any good friends are required by the Law of Life to do—they egged me on. Oh, Barb was benign enough—she clapped and cheered and gave me happy attaboys. But BriarRose (that's two)…BR's contribution was far, far more insidious. She laughed. She laughed with outrageous glee and begged me for more. She beta'd them for perfection, for pity's sake! She suggested scenes, then sat in the cyberwings, lurking like a demented vulture, waiting for each episode to unfold. . .

And Great Bird of the Galaxy help me, I bought into their whole, heady sea of flattery—hook, line, and sinker! I lapped up their praise like the last drops of moisture on the planet, and jumped of my own volition into Haiku Canyon. Parachute-less. Oh, the humanity!!!!

I would consider myself weak…pitiful…spineless—except that it's so much fun! And no calories! ;-D

So, without further ado I give you…*echo* Episodes in Haiku! *echo*.
